Friday night saw the Scouts and Explorers taking up the challenge of cooking pancakes. Each patrol cooked their own pancakes and then had the choice of their fillings – chocolate spread, marshmallows, jam as well as the traditional lemon and sugar.
Once cleared away the pancake races started, I’m not sure anyone actually knows who won!!
A group of prospective Patrol Leaders and Existing Patrol Leaders met up at Crawfordsburn this weekend for a packed weekend of classes and activities to develop their leadership and teambuilding skills. The weekend addressed a range of topics such as styles of leadership, dealing with challenging behaviour, communication, promoting scouting, risk assessments and program panning, by allowing the young people to try different activities and games such as the trading post, building a shelter, and the blind trail. It also provided an opportunity to get to know Scouts from across Northern Ireland such as Carryduff, Ballyclare, Ballymoney and Belfast .
