E.on Tent Of The Future Competition

E.On have partnered with The Scout Association to sponsor the Scout Global Conservation Activity Badge and in doing so educate young people on sustainability and energy efficiency.
In the UK we’re committed to educating young people about the importance of being energy efficient and understanding the role they can play in making a positive difference. E.On’s partnership with The Scout Association is a fantastic opportunity to do this in a fun and engaging environment. We hope to bring energy to life and to empower Scouts to not only change their own energy behaviour but to also influence those around them.
Resources
The Global Conservation Badge provides ample scope for Scouts to be really creative – both with their hands and with their minds. This fantastic new resource created by E.ON and the Scout Association gives leaders and Scouts some great ideas and ways to achieve the Global Conservation Badge.

About E.ON
E.ON is one of the UK’s leading power and gas companies – generating electricity, and retailing power and gas – and is part of the E.ON group, one of the world’s largest investor-owned power and gas companies.  E.ON employs around 12,000 people in the UK and more than 79,000 worldwide.
E.ON Tent of the Future
When research revealed that young people were turned off camping because of being denied access to gadgets and technology, E.ON had a brainwave. If you were lucky enough to attend Essex Jamboree or Warwickshire’s Bear Day, then you may have seen E.ON’s Tent of the Future. The tent is kitted out with camping friendly gadgets and games including solar powered baseball caps and an intelligent sleeping bag that regulates body temperature.
Competition
E.On are inviting Scout Groups to submit their own suggestions, designs or even models for their Tent of the Future. If you and your Group have an innovative gizmo design then it could win you fantastic prizes. The winning entry will receive £500 of vouchers to spend on electrical equipment for their Scout meeting place, whilst four runners up will receive £250.
How to enter
To enter simply submit an entry to corporatepartnerships@scouts.org.uk. This can be as little as a description of your idea, or as much as a full gadget design. The prizes will go to both the best ideas, and the best executed entries. The deadline for receipt of entries is March 31 2013.
