Cubs building!

Strengths, weaknesses, techniques….. Cubs investigated the best way to build an egg supporting structure. Spaghetti, marshmallows, straws & blu tac, paper and tape… it was a very narrow victory for one team.   Much fun.  Thanks to raksha for her worksheets and prizes.

Emergency Aid with St John

Cubs undertook Emergency Aid badgework tonight.  Practical hands on training was provided by Sheila, James and Sham from St John Ambulance. Kaa, Raksha, Luke, Matthew and Akela where all victims and casualties and got tended to by cubs. Badges were awarded by the team, many thanks!

Cubs at First Ballymoney

Tonight Cubs visited 1st Ballymoney Presbyterian Church as part of their Faith Badge. The Minister Gareth showed the cubs the stained glass, talked about the history of the church (Built in 1777!) ran a quiz and gave some valuable lessons and advice.  He fielded questions and provided answers when cubs went slightly askew with their…

Vet in the House!

Today , Tuesday 25th April 2017 our Beaver section had a visit from Malcolm. Malcolm is from Riada Veterinary Clinic. Our Beavers really enjoyed his visit. He showed them x-rays, explained how they do routine checks, and poor Scooby Doo (the toy dog) underwent some surgery. Our Beavers also enjoyed practising with syringes and bandages….
